Larry stares at their hands as she speaks and nods his agreement with her. “I’m glad we are, because that was the loneliest month of my life and if that’s what being without you is like, then I never want to go through that again.” He finishes with another kiss to her soft knuckles, keeping their fingers locked together. His eyes meet with hers and he smiles sheepishly at his wife.
“And I know I can be a colossal jackass most of the time, but I’m honestly not doing it on purpose. I have no explanation for it. That’s just how I am, I guess.” He says with a sigh, despite the reluctant smile still on his face. Larry had never been good at relationships in general. He’d never had many that lasted very long, and as he looks back, he supposes it’s his fault they ended so frequently.
“I definitely agree with you on that one – the entire month apart was one of the most horrid I’ve experienced in a very l o n g time.” She states as she chews absently at the inside of her cheek and gives his hand a gentle squeezing. “I mean sure, the kids are good company – you never quite understand how dependent you are on someone else, until you have to live without them for any given amount of time.” Ally comments softly, her icy hues flicking down towards the table.
His words are met with an understanding nod as she lets out a light chuckle. “I know, handsome – and it’s fine, for the most part, we’ve all got our own special set of q u i r k s…” Ally comments simply, before rolling her shoulders absently and clears her throat. “I’m not exactly the easiest person to deal with either, so… I can understand.”
