Matthew gives Rob a quick hug before collapsing into his mother and burying his face in her neck. His chest heaves with sobs and he holds onto her tightly. He’s never felt this kind of pain before. Not once in his life does he remember ever feeling this desperate and broken. And why should he? He’s only eight. He shouldn’t have to know this pain. Not yet.

Larry watches his remaining son fall into his mother’s embrace, tearing his eyes away as he feels himself crumbling. He somehow manages to stand and wraps his brother in a hug. He sobs into the man’s shoulder, his body shaking with grief. How were he and his family supposed to cope? How were they supposed to move on?

The blondes arms wrap around Matthew in a secure embrace, her own sobs ripping clean from her chest as she rests her forehead against the little boys shoulder. She didn’t know how she was going to be able to keep it together, she had to be strong for her kids, yet all she really wanted to do at the moment was curl up in a ball and fall apart. Ally had to remember to not close herself up, they were a FAMILY, and they were all going through the same pain but it was hard when she couldn’t even wrap her mind around the fact that Julian wouldn’t be coming home with them.

When Larry turned to him and fell to pieces, any sort of composure that Rob might have had vanished into thin air, his own emotions then pushing their way up to the surface with a vengeance. His arm moves to wrap protectively around his brother’s shoulders, in attempts to give him some sort of comfort, though his own sobs couldn’t be contained anymore.
