Larry pauses with Rob at the door and turns to look at Ally. “You don’t have to. You can wait out here if you want.” He says softly. He didn’t want to do it any more than she did. In fact, he would rather be anywhere but here - in this dark and morbid place that now houses their son. “You don’t have to.” He repeats. Larry reaches up and brush her tears away, knowing full well that his own will coat his cheeks in a matter of seconds.

Never in his life did he think he would have to visit this place. His brother escaped death mere months ago, freeing Larry from the burden of seeing his brother lying cold and lifeless on a steel table. And now, here he is, ready to set foot into arguably the worst room in the world, about to see his son lying in the same spot.

Ally’s jaw clenches, the sheer agony of the entire even being made evident in her features. She would trade places with Julian in a heartbeat, if it meant that he’d get to live a long and happy life, it would be worth it. In all her time on Earth, she’d experienced unremarkable amounts of love and happiness, and she’d also felt pain and heartbreak; she would trade everything if it would allow Julian the chance to feel everything that life had to offer.

After a moment or two, a look of determination crosses her features as she shakes her head and takes Larry’s hand from her face to hold it between hers. “No, we need to see our son. It hurts like nothing I’ve ever felt, but he still needs us.” She states, whatever strength she had left in her resided within the depths of her voice as she looks past Larry to his brother, and nods.
