Larry nods slowly and drapes his arm along the back of the couch, pulling her against him and resting his cheek against her head. He sighs quietly and nods. “Just another injury that’ll heal up in a few weeks.” They’d both been injured numerous times and with that experience, they knew the ups and downs of what such injuries could entail.
“I love you.” He says softly, unsure of what else to say or do. Nothing at this point could help their situation. And the only thing keeping him together was her solid comfort against him and her soothing presence. But no words or actions could reverse what had happened to their son. “Yep, we both know how that goes…” she states, while shifting to rest against him, the blondes eyes closing once more in hopes that it would stop the spinning at least. She’d had so many injuries that it was second nature to deal with the pain and wait out the healing process. The warmth that radiated from him was comforting, it caused her to relax, if even just a little bit.
At his words, Ally turns her head slightly to press a chaste kiss to Larry’s cheek. “I love you too,” she says, while reaching over to lace her fingers through his, her thoughts drifting slightly as she lets the silence wash over her. This was grief. No matter how much they tried to keep themselves busy or otherwise distracted, it would always find them. Sure, time would make it easier to deal with, though that pain would never completely go away.
