He rests his hand over hers and links their fingers as he heaves a sigh. He wasn’t ready to do anything in regards to their son. He wasn’t ready to accept his death and he certainly wasn’t ready to bury him. That would mean finality. That the situation is real. And although he is rationally aware that this did indeed happen, he doesn’t want to believe it.
His thumb rubs the back of her hand of its own accord, tracing soothing patterns against her skin. Larry forced himself to breathe properly, reaching up to run away the tears from his tired eyes. As the minutes tick by, he shuts his eyes and tries to find sleep, though he’s sure it won’t come soon enough.
Once the morning hours reached them, Ally’s eyes open, the faint light pouring in from the cracks of their curtains instantly causes her to squint before looking over at the clock to see that it was just barely five in the morning. With a sigh, she rolls out of the bed, a wince coming from her at the faint pain she felt in her shoulder as she walks towards the bathroom.
For the time being, she just felt numb, though she was certain that would change the more and more awake she became. The blonde turns the water on in the shower to let it heat up, before moving to the sink to take off the bandage that Rob had put on her arm the night previous, a groan coming from her as it pulls slightly at her stitches.
