Once he feels her warm touch, he nearly collapses into her, burying his face in her neck and keeping her locked tightly against his chest. “I can’t believe we have to bury our son. What am I supposed to say to Matthew? He’s just sitting in his brother’s room waiting for him to come back.” He sobs against his wife, trying desperately to pick up the pieces without success.
How was he supposed to carry on about his day with the knowledge that his own brother was going to call him later and they would soon have to begin preparing for Julian’s funeral? How were Ally and Larry expected to do that? This is the kind of thing that changes a person to their very core. And no matter how hard they tried, they would never be the same again.
Ally shakes her head at his words, her own tears spilling out and falling onto the sleeve of Larry’s shirt. “I don’t know… I don’t know how we’re going to do anything…” She breathes heavily, holding him as tightly as her arms would allow, her forehead then resting onto his shoulder as she cries quietly against him. This was uncharted territory for them, something that they shouldn’t be having to figure out either.
The blonde continues to rub a soothing line along Larry’s back, before bringing her other hand up to cup the back of his head, her eyes falling closed as she gnaws at her lower lip. There was no way that ease their current suffering, not when at the end of the day, there was a gaping hole within their chests where Julian used to be. He’d been taken from them, it was horrible, and completely unfair.
