“Mm, we pay them handsomely to be able to handle things like this.” He agrees, nuzzling her cheek gently and releasing her from his tight grasp. “Save some for me.” Larry says weakly, smiling after her and turning toward the shower. As she leaves him, he turns it on and begins stripping out of his nightwear, having spend half the night in the hospital and the other half lying awake, he was ready to feel clean and refreshed again.

Once he steps under the warmth of the cascading water, Larry lets it run over his body, easing the tension from his muscles and making him shudder with relief. His main goal would be to make it through the day without a relapse into his melancholic thoughts. Once his hair and body have been thoroughly washed and rinsed, he steps out of the shower and wraps a towel around his waist, turning to the sink to shave the stubble from his chin and cheeks.

       “No promises,” she remarks, before nodding, a faint lift of her lips being all she could offer him as she turns and heads out of their bedroom. As she walks down the hall, Ally pauses, her eyes turning towards Julian’s room as she feels a knot form at the back of her throat. With a sigh, she shakes her head and quickly rushes downstairs, unable to bring herself to actually go into the room at that point. Just knowing that Julian wouldn’t be there was just too hard.

Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, the blonde pads towards their kitchen to start a pot of coffee, before going over to her phone to make the dreaded call to Nathan. The house was silent, just as it should be at that hour in the morning, but the silence wasn’t as comforting as it usually was. After having dialed the familiar number, she waits until Nathan answered, mustering all the strength as she heard his friendly greeting. Her response was the bipolar opposite as she tells her friend about their sons death, her voice shaking as she holds onto the countertop, as if to keep herself grounded.
