He nods, not really knowing how to console his wife at the moment. Larry runs his fingers through her hair, attempting to find any way to give her the support she needs. He knew this wouldn’t be the last time that day that they would find themselves huddled together so that they both know that the other is there. No matter how painful the day becomes, he knows his wife will feel every moment of it with him.
“I should probably tell Sam sometime today.” He says with a quiet, restrained sigh. “Maybe after..” Rob calls. He wants to say, but the words refuse to come out of his mouth. After Rob calls, that would be that. Funeral preparations would begin and neither of them would be able to cope with the flowers and the venues and the grave site. And the coffin. He quickly snuffs out that thought as he turns her to face him. “Let’s just.. make it through this day, okay? One step at a time.”
Ally turns slowly to face him, her eyes lifting to look up at her husband as she nods at his words. “One step at a time,” she repeats. It was certainly going to be a difficult day to say the least, though she had expected nothing less. It wasn’t something that was meant to be easy. Once Rob called, she suspected that it would get a whole lot worse before it got any better.
The blonde then lets out a heavy breath as she brings her hand up to cup Larry’s cheek, her thumb gently brushing along his cheekbone. “I think after all of this, we should just live in a big protective bubble.” She offers, though what would have usually been said as a joke, as a slightly dimmer tone to it as she attempts a faint smile.
