Larry hears the distraction in her voice and turns his head to look at her. He leans back and gives her a brief kiss. “I love you.” He says softly. He knows her mind has the tendency to drift in the middle of conversations, and this was no exception. He of course didn’t fault her for it. Their son had just been killed and he knew all too well that her mind was going to drift into places it shouldn’t go.
Just as she mentions the dogs, he hears them trotting around upstairs in search of them. Soon, they come thundering down the stairs and down the hallway to where he and Ally sit on the couch. “Well, I guess that’s our signal.” He gives Ally one more kiss before pushing himself off the couch and going out to the kitchen to put their food in their designated bowls.
At the sound of thundering paws, the blonde blinks, a light chuckle coming from her as she nods at his statement. “It’s like they knew we were talking about them.” She states, before heaving a sigh as she pushes up off the couch and stretches as she follows him down the hall. Marty, Stark, and Sirius bound down the stairs quickly each of them excited for their breakfast, though Ally noticed that Indy came down the stairs far slower than the other three.
“Hey boy,” she says once Indy had finally reaches the bottom of the stairs, and crouches down to scratch behind the dogs ears. “I know, don’t you? … Me too, buddy… I miss him so much.” Ally says, before leaning down to press a kiss to Indy’s snout as the dog whines softly. The distress in Julian’s lifelong pal was hard to miss. After she’d stood back up, Indy walks towards the kitchen, but lays down a ways away from his bowl, the sight making tears instantly form in her eyes.
