“I know.” Larry’s voice cracks as he feels his heart shattering all over again. The immeasurable effort it takes to keep his sobs from breaking through is unlike anything he’s ever felt. “I will. Thanks, Rob..” Larry hesitates for a moment as he collects himself. He flicks the tears away from his cheeks and clears his throat. “I love you, Rob.” He didn’t say the words often enough to his brother. After watching Matthew struggle with the news of his own brother’s death, he felt that they couldn’t go unsaid. Especially after all the things Rob has done to help them.

Matthew looks up at his mother after a few moments and nuzzles her neck gently. “Can I keep Julian’s lion?” He asks, still holding the stuffed animal tight. It had been Julian’s since infancy, and he only ever knew it to belong to him. But he couldn’t bear letting it go untouched.

Rob nods, his brows furrowed as he focuses on collecting himself before letting out a soft sigh. “I love you too, Larry.” He responds. With tragedies such as this, it was natural to want to be close with family, though truthfully… this was one loss that he would have much rather gone without. His nephew deserved better. The fact that he died due to someone else’s brash actions left him angry, his inability to save him didn’t help his anguish either. “I uh… need to call Tony, I haven’t … been able to talk to anyone since last night.” He confesses, his hand moving up to rub at his face.

At the question, Ally instantly looks down at Matthew and reaches up to stroke his hair back gently. “Of course, I think Julian would like that.” She states, before leaning down to press a light kiss to the little boys forehead. The lion was something that Larry had given to Julian when he was a baby, and from that day, it had stayed with him. She could understand why Matthew would want it, it was a big part of his brother.
