Matthew’s heart sinks and he nestles himself against his mother, the lion wedged between them. Indy whines softly and looks up at Larry from his spot on the floor. The dog still hadn’t eaten and Larry couldn’t blame him. He looks towards his wife and rubs his eyes behind his glasses. “Um.. I’ll make some calls. Get everything squared away. Don’t worry about anything.”
Larry wasn’t particularly fond of making the funeral arrangements, but if it meant his wife wouldn’t have to undergo that trauma, he would do everything. There really wasn’t that much to prepare anyways. Flowers. Transportation. Grave. Service. Coffin. With any luck, he’d be done within the hour and all they would need is to pick out a casket. At his distressing thoughts, every ounce of control leaves him and he goes back into his office quickly.
Ally continues to hold onto Matthew for a minute or two, her eyes watering though nothing spilled out, which left her convinced that she must had ran empty on the tears department. “Hey, buddy… I’m going to go check on your father, will you be okay? She murmurs, placing a kiss onto the top of Matthew’s hair before pulling back slightly to look down at him.
Despite not wanting to have to bury their son, she knew they had absolutely no choice. If they did, they wouldn’t even be in the position to begin with. But they were, and no matter the heartache, she couldn’t just let Larry handle it all. He needed support just as much as the rest of them. With a sigh, she stands with Matthew still in her arms, before setting the little boy down onto the couch and kisses his cheek.
