Larry lifts himself from the couch and heads toward his office to grab his keys, wallet, and phone for their departure. He then meets Ally and Renee by the front door and rests his hand against his wife’s lower back. “Hi, Renee. Thanks again for watching the kiddos.” He greets her. He knew Renee wasn’t his biggest fan, but she was always civil toward him for Ally’s sake.

“Ready, sweetheart?” He asks Ally, running his hand up and down her back comfortingly. Larry kisses her temple gently as his hand slips down to take hers, lacing their fingers together. He knew neither of them were ready, per se, but they needed to steele themselves for the inevitable downfall of their own emotions. And he knew that walking into their son’s funeral ceremony would be the most difficult thing either of them have to do.

With that, Renee released the blonde, that action causing Ally to let out a shaky breath. “… Honestly? No.” She responds, before clearing her throat as she gently squeezes Larry’s hand, before nodding. “We should go, again we really appreciate it Renee, we’ll talk more once we get back okay?” With that, she nods and guides them out the door, a sigh coming from her. As they walked to the car, she once again allows her thoughts to travel.

Yes, she was dreading the series of events that they were about to embark on. The funeral preparations and then the actual burial of their son. She was certain all of it was going to take a toll on her. Ally didn’t even know how she was going to keep herself going through all of it. Sure, she had Larry, and she knew he was going through the same pain; but just as she’d told him… they always seemed to shut down when it came to difficult situations. And this would be the most difficult feat yet.
