As her arms encase him, he pulls her into a tight hug, his cheek resting against her silken hair. “I love you too.” He answers stiffly. He knew this would be difficult for them, and he knew neither of them wanted to go, but he didn’t expect the overwhelming amount of details that would need to be taken care of in order for them to bury their son.
“I agree. That place was bleak and cold.” He says through a sigh. Larry leans down to kiss her forehead, stroking her hair back gently. He then reaches into his pocket and fishes out his car keys to unlock the doors. Larry opens her door for her and leans against it. “Lets get the hell out of here.” He says through a grimace.
“Couldn’t agree more,” she states before pulling back and climbing into the car once the door was open. With a heavy sigh, Ally settles herself into her seat as she bites her lower lip and brings a hand up to rub at her eyes. One week, that’s the time they had before they’d have to bury their son, just the thought of it was painful enough to make her feel as if someone had punched her in the stomach. “Should probably attempt to eat something when we get home.”
Ally couldn’t honestly remember the last time she’d eaten anything. Given everything that had been going on, food was the last thing on her mind. Absently, she shifts and fishes her phone out of her pocket to send Renee a text to let her know that they’d be heading back home shortly.
